The objective of the Canton Garden Club (CGC) is to promote interest in and knowledge of gardening, civic improvements and the conservation of wildlife and natural resources.

We encourage others to take pride in their community by sharing our knowledge and enthusiasm for all things green and growing.

Letter from the President

Welcome Back to our 95th year of the Canton Garden Club. Exciting programs are ahead for our 2025-26 year. Yes, our 95 th YEAR!!! As you all know, it has been a challenging year to fill all of our board positions in order to maintain our club. However, our board has worked through this difficult situation and I have agreed to fill the role as President for a one-year period with Co-Vice Presidents (pending membership approval). This year the board wants to emphasize the importance of preserving the club’s history, by maintaining our traditions in order to pass them down to incoming generations. Continued efforts are being made to bring our club’s information into the digital age, with a stronger social media/web presence. In addition, we have added current payment options for our changing world. While we continue embrace progress, we still appreciate working in the garden as a way of disconnecting from the hustle demanded by today’s fast-paced society. Our opening program in September, will be a program on Bonsai, with Peter Olson as our presenter. Peter is the Master Gardener at the New England Bonsai Gardens in Bellingham, and was a special guest on the Martha Stewart show. Be sure to watch the video Lindsey sent prior to the presentation. A luncheon will follow the program, prepared by your Board Members. The October program will be a dried flower program, presented by member, Carolyn McNeil. People who wish to participate, should collect and dry flowers in advance of our meeting. A fun and creative program. We have planned programs on Composting, Holiday Design from Nature, Edible Landscaping, Butterflies and Indoor Plants. Something for everyone. If you have any suggestions for programs, we are open to hear your proposals. We must continue to change with the times to evolve with the world around us. We want our beloved Garden Club to keep up with the modern world and not get left behind, to be enjoyed by many generations to come. Looking forward to an interesting, creative and exciting year ahead.

Canton Garden Club General Information

GENERAL MEETINGS are held at 7:00 pm or 10:00 am on the second Monday of each month, unless otherwise noted. Guests and prospective members are welcome to all general meetings. The annual meeting in May is limited to members only. Check the club calendar for exact dates and times. BOARD MEETINGS are held on the first Monday of the month via Zoom unless otherwise noted.
